GIFTS

If you have items of sporting heritage at home and think they belong in the museum, please let us know! Send an email to collectie@sportimonium.be and we will let know know whether they meet the criteria of our collection policy.

LOANS

Sportimonium regularly loans items to museums and other organisations in Belgium and abroad.

If you would like to request the loan of an item, please contact collectie@sportimonium.be

Please include the following in your request:

• Name and address of organisation requesting the loan
• Contact details (name, telephone, mobile number and email)
• Name and dates of exhibition
• Location of exhibition
• Description of the exhibition concept
• Name and number of the object (SMV number)

We take the condition of items into account when deciding whether they can be loaned out. We do not charge administration fees for loan requests. However, the borrower bears responsibility for insurance and transport.
Loans must be requested well before objects are needed: at least one month in advance. The collection team assesses each request individually.

  A sports museum is so much more than just an exhibition about sports. It is a lively treasure chamber brimming with stories and memories, with an impressive collection of no less than 13,000 objects, tens of thousands of photos and hundreds of meters of archives and documents. Together, they uniquely bring to life the history of exercise, games and sports, not only in Flanders and Belgium, but also beyond. These valuable sports materials and archives are preserved with the greatest care in optimal conditions so that they can inspire generations to come.
