Extended by popular demand: ‘We were World Champions’ exhibition open through the end of September at the HEY Museum!

Sportimonium is extending its away fixture at the HEY Museum with the temporary exhibition ‘We were World Champions’. The exhibition is an absolute hit. The 1920 Antwerp Olympic title takes center stage, while also highlighting the career of local football hero Hector Goetinck: from Front Wanderers player to manager of the Belgian national team at the 1930 World Cup.

These remarkable sporting moments also build a bridge to today’s football.

Alongside the Red Devils, national teams such as the Red Flamingos and the Special Devils are also given the recognition they deserve.

No sports exhibition is complete without some action! Take a penalty kick yourself and stand a chance to win a We Were World Champions shirt. More information about the competition is available on site. You can read the competition rules here.

The exhibition can be visited from Saturday 30 May until Wednesday 30 September 2026, daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the HEY Museum in Knokke-Heist.
