Visitors with a disability
- WHEELCHAIR USERS can access all public areas of Sportimonium, including all exhibition spaces. A large number of traditional games can also be played by wheelchair users. Special washroom facilities are available. Access from the car park to Sportimonium and all main paths on Sport Vlaanderen are wheelchair-friendly.
- Upon request, VISITORS WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES are received in a manner appropriate to their disability and guided throughout their visit to the exhibition, the sports lab and the traditional games garden.
- VISITORS WITH A HEARING IMPAIRMENT are provided with sufficient visual input from visual materials and can easily navigate the museum using the wall texts. Groups that opt for a guide or Sportimonium coach would be advised to call on the services of a sign language interpreter.
- VISITORS WITH A VISUAL IMPAIRMENT have plenty to enjoy at Sportimonium thanks to the ‘Sportimonium from another perspective’ circuit. This visit guides the visually impaired and their families and friends through the exhibition with the aid of touch and feel boxes and audio installations. You can opt for an individual visit (tour guide available at the counter) or a group visit (maximum 8 persons with a visual impairment per group) with an experienced guide.
Guided visits: 45 euros (Sportimonium from Another Perspective)
