WILL YOU DREAM ALONG WITH US?
Sportimonium, your sporting museum, nurtures and displays a rich and unique collection of photos and objects that represent the history of Belgian and Olympic sports. But Sportimonium is also home to the sporting history of tomorrow, and that is digital.
It is Sportimonium’s dream to continue digitizing its collection in 2021. In this way, the museum can preserve 70 unique photo albums documenting exceptional sporting personalities such as Victor Boin and Paul Anspach, Belgian athletes who took place in the first post-war Olympic Games – in Antwerp, no less. Sportimonium is eager to digitize these beautiful and treasured photos this year and make them available to everyone online.
“Digitization is inspiration, and inspiration begins with a dream.”
Sportimonium needs to raise €20,000 to make this dream come true. We will put these funds towards professional scanning equipment and software, and to developing our website further so that we can share these unique photo albums with you.
To help us fulfill our dream, you can deposit your donation to the Sportimonium account with number BE38 4314 7305 0172 (please state ‘gift digitization’).
If you dream along with us, we will provide donation certificate for tax purposes for donations of €40 and higher, which you can use to obtain an income tax deduction amounting to 60% of your donation.
(In the context of corona measures, the government has decided that donations are up to 60% tax deductible instead of the previous 45%).
We would like to extend a further thanks to everyone who helps make Sportimonium’s dreams come true. From a donation of € 40 you will receive from us a free ticket to our new exhibition, ‘Breaking Boundaries: the Olympic Games from Antwerp 1920 to Tokyo 2020’, (untill the 24th of December 2021).
