Sportimonium in the MAS
One hundred years ago the Olympic Games took place in Antwerp. These were the first Olympics to be held after the first world war. Today almost no trace remains of the Antwerp Games – nothing more than a few of the street names around the Kiel.
One silent memorial to the Antwerp Games is the Olympic collection in the archives of the Sportimonium Sports and Olympic Museum. You can see some of the items in our collection for free during our temporary exhibition in the MAS viewing depot in Antwerp.
To find out more, visit the Sportimonium in Hofstade and see the special exhibition “Breaking Boundaries: the Olympic Games from Antwerp 1920 to Tokyo 2020’.
